Eating their Own

Al Wynn takes PAC money. Donna Edwards takes PAC money = Al Wynn bad. Donna Edwards good?

I'll never understand the extreme left's ability and desire to try and eat their incumbents.

From time to time, incumbents in both parties deserve to have their feet held to the fire on ideological grounds. I can think of one guy who deserves someone to challenge his credentials in the next primary. But nobody, and I mean nobody, gets as excited for an intraparty rumble like the extreme left netroots crowd. They thrive on it, consequences be damned. And why not?
It worked so well in Connecticut...

Wynn is a semi-Republican in practice, on the corporate dime big-time with a coin-changer on his belt and obviously weak meat if no-cash Edwards came almost within a recount of beating him. Lamont lost because the Republican Party decided to co-opt Lieberman (easy) through election law sore-loserdom rather than fight.

Conservative Dem Senator Giannetti lost two to one in the 21st, twice: once as a Democrat and once as a Republican. But the 21st Leg. was redder than the Congressional 4th is now. No Republican can ever take the 4th until redistricting. Republican victory inside the Beltway in PG?? A Republican would have a better time in Berkeley or the Bronx.

Cordially, Bruce Godfrey
