Breaking: Is MDGOP Exec. Dir. on the outs?

Sources are telling me that Maryland Republican Party Executive Director John Flynn's job may be in jeopardy.

The speculation is that the State Party Executive Committee will be meeting soon and will vote either to remove John as Executive Director or by drastically cutting his pay, essentially trying to force him out.

I'll post more if and when I hear any additional information.....

I've heard the same thing.

To quote O' Brother Where Art Thou, "We (the MDGOP) are in a tight spot."

But, with the meeting being moved to Fourth of July weekend, I'm sure that the votes have been counted and Flynn will keep his job.

I don't think Marcia will be so fortunate though.

The dangerous thing about blogs is when those that don't know the facts decide to write. Marcia is the only one in that office who is safe. Without Marcia there is absolutely no institutional knowledge left in the building and there are way too many people in this state that would stand behind Marcia 100%. That is about 99% more than would stand behind Mr. Flynn.

Bipp,

Now that the meeting is over, you are right - fortunately.

I think it would have been a grave mistake to cut Marcia from the MDGOP. I thought that maybe the pro-pelura forces would try to protect flynn and that they were rigging the vote to give them the most favorable outcome.

Clearly, I overestimated flynn's political ability and underestimated the will of the executive committee when it comes to issues regarding the finances of the MDGOP.
