Failing the Loyalty Test

One Kansas Republican makes a very prescient point:
Former Kansas Republican Party Chairman Mark Parkinson switched his party affiliation to Democrat on Tuesday, fueling speculation that he will be named Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' running mate.That's right; a former state GOP Chairman switching parties to be a running mate for an incumbent Democratic governor. That's just plain unbelievable, particularly in a state like ours.
One Kansas Republican makes a very prescient point:
"To me, one of the most valuable traits that a person can have, particularly a person who find himself in a position of authority is loyalty," said (House Speaker Doug) Mays, R-Topeka. "I think he's being opportunistic on a personal basis. The Republican Party had been very good to Mark Parkinson."Unfortunately, there are some people even in our own local party that need to take this to heart.

think about Kathleen Sebelius?
Regarding Sebelius picking a Republican turned Democrat as her running mate in 2002:
State GOP Chairman Mark Parkinson called Sebelius’ choice a “gimmick” designed to hide what he said were her liberal politics.
“Clearly, she’s worried about her record, which puts her squarely in the liberal camp,” Parkinson said in a statement. “No running mate can disguise that.”

Regarding Sebelius’ positions on crime:
“I think she’s so far out of step with the public on crime issues that I think it ought to be pointed out,” said State GOP Chairman Mark Parkinson. “She is an extreme liberal, pro-criminal on crime issues.”
