There is nothing good to say
September 11th is one of those days that is probably best left solemnly quiet than saying too much about the world around us. Some people, particularly those members of the majority in Congress, decide that today is a good day to continue their defeatist rhetoric and venom, particularly directed at General Patreus and the troops on the ground in Iraq. That's not what today is about.
Today is about remembering that fact that six years ago today roughly 3,000 of our countrymen and women were violently killed by maniacal thugs. Remember their memories. Remember the heroism of the emergency workers. Think good thoughts about our troops in combat. And next year, on the seventh anniversary, think of these things and leave the partisan hatred at home for a day...
